Snyder III, a certified Master of Ceremonies, recently completed ‘The Professional Process’ and received a certificate of training. ‘The Professional Process’ is conducted by Peter Merry, author of ‘The Best Wedding Reception…Ever!’ and is the founder of the Wedding Entertainment Director tm Guild. Charles is currently the only entertainer to complete this achievement in the entire greater Harrisburg, PA region.

On June 22, 2010 Charles attended the Appalachian Mobile DJ Symposium (ARMDJs) in Greeneville, Tennessee. ARMDJs featured an impressive presenter lineup of wedding professionals from all across the United States. ‘The Professional Process’ was conducted on the two days immediately following the conference and in the early evening of June 24, 2010; he was awarded a certificate of achievement by Peter Merry.

In addition to this, Charles is also currently the only entertainer in the Greater Harrisburg, PA region to complete the MarBecca Method MC Workshop. This workshop was held in conjunction with the Mobile Beat Las Vegas convention in February 2009 and consisted of two days of intensive instruction and practical exercises. An article about this accomplishment was published in February 2009 titled Certified Professional MC.

“I am often asked by many people including my clients and especially other DJs, why I go to such great lengths to obtain this kind of advanced training. At first I used to go into this long explanation about honing my skills or learning new ones anywhere I could except at someone’s wedding; now I simply say ‘Because I care!’” – Charles E. Snyder III.

Charles is the owner of Extraordinary Weddings; a wedding entertainment company located in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, and is the author of the forthcoming book ‘Wed Without Regrets – Common Sense for an Extraordinary Wedding!’ He has been a member of the American Disc Jockey Association since 2006 and is an active member of Toastmasters International as well.

Recently I had the opportunity to attend a comedy workshop developed by two-time Emmy award winning Louie Anderson and Kyle Cease, winner of the Comedy Central – Last Comic Standing. It was an amazing two day event over the Mother’s Day weekend that was jam-packed full of so much information with a surprising amount of motivational as well as inspirational information too! I have to say that it has been hands-down the best workshop I have been to in well over a year!!! In fact it was just about every bit as good as the intensive MarBecca Method MC Workshop that I attended back in February 2009 in Las Vegas!

When I signed up for this comedy workshop, I wasn’t really sure what to expect other than having an opportunity to work on my public speaking skills, which are useful as an MC as well. A few of my friends from Upper Michigan and Minneapolis area attended the event back in March 2010, having nothing but the highest praises afterwards. So signed up immediately for the same workshop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the hopes that I could come away from the experience with something I could use with my business.

All I can say now is that I am very glad that I took the leap of faith and went! After spending two days with Louie and Kyle, listening to their incredible knowledge and experiences; I have a new found respect for them as entertainers and for stand-up comics in general. It opened my eyes to more opportunities to practice my craft, hone my skills and open doors I was only vaguely aware of before. Thanks to Kyle and Louie, I am now armed with more ideas and tools to improve the my level of service to my customers while realizing my vastly increased potential.

I also had the pleasure of meeting up-coming comedian, Steve Byrne. He made a guest appearance at the workshop, shared some of his experiences as well as some pointers to what has worked for him. I was very impressed with his story as well!

Kyle, Louie; thank you both very much again! You guys rock!!!

Anyone that has known me for any length of time knows that I am a firm believer in continuing education, personal development and actively belonging to trade organizations. The reasons are many and may be obvious to some, however there are always some who want to know why or simply do not care. But I am not here to debate that, rather I am offering it as information so that you can make an informed choice when looking to book entertainment for your special event.

Why?

I feel that one of my newest couples that I am working with summed it up nicely, “I can tell that you are serious about your business because of how well prepared you are and that you actually care about our wedding; you don’t know how much of a relief that is for us!“

I care. That is why I belong to the American Disc Jockey Association and I am working with others to develop a local chapter. That is why I joined Toast Masters International, so that I can practice my public speaking skills. That is why I became a certified Master of Ceremonies and a certified CPSDJ. That is why I regularly attend conferences and trade shows to learn new skills. That is why I developed DeeJayMasterMind.com and actively participate in it too. That is why I work closely with my clients to plan their wedding, meeting with them more than once before their special day.

What has your DJ done to show you that they care?
